Code of Conduct
Unitopia is a social organization designed to foster meaningful connections and shared experiences. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members and guests. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for respectful interaction within the Unitopia community.
Respectful Interactions
We value inclusivity and diversity at Unitopia. We expect all members and guests to treat each other with courtesy, regardless of background, beliefs, or experiences. This includes:
- Using respectful and inclusive language. Avoid profanity, insults, or language that may be offensive to others.
- Engaging in civil discourse. Disagree respectfully and avoid personal attacks.
- Respecting boundaries and privacy. Do not share personal information about others without their consent.
- Being mindful of physical contact. Only engage in physical touch that is welcome and appropriate for the setting.
Harassment
Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited at Unitopia. This includes:
- Verbal harassment: Threats, insults, intimidation, offensive jokes, or slurs.
- Physical harassment: Unwanted touching, shoving, or any physical aggression.
- Cyberbullying: Harassment through online communication channels.
- Discrimination: Any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Doxing: Publicly revealing private or identifying information about someone with malicious intent.
Consequences of Code of Conduct Violations
We take violations of our Code of Conduct seriously. If a member or guest is found to be in breach of this Code, they may face consequences including:
- Warnings: For minor offenses, a verbal or written warning may be issued.
- Temporary suspension: For more serious offenses, a temporary suspension from Unitopia experiences may be implemented.
- Permanent ban: Repeated violations or severe offenses may result in a permanent ban from Unitopia and all experiences hosted by the organization. Incidents involving serious criminal activity or threats will be reported to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Reporting Violations
If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to a Unitopia representative. You can report violations discreetly by:
